You certainly want to be a boss who has pride. What good is a boss if dismissed by the subordinate, or merely a puppet who has no charisma. Being a supervisor is not just a matter of status, income, or pride. Being a boss is about to lead a de facto and a positive influence to the unit of work that we are leading. To be able to fulfill that function, then an employer should understand what is expected by his subordinates.

Exemplary. No command is more powerful than exemplary. With the example of a boss does not even need to say any more to encourage his subordinates to do something. Conversely, without example; command you will only be followed by a grunt subordinates. For example, you say: 'Do not come late to the office! ". If you own is often too late, then your people will just assume your command as a mere joke. However, if you own a timely manner, then your people will learn to be disciplined.

Be fair. Everyone really wants to be treated fairly. With justice, then the boss gave reprimands or sanctions are appropriate to subordinates who make mistakes, and giving praise or rewards are worth to those who have demonstrated seriousness. The decision was made not based on mere proximity or primordial ties, but because of competence, professionalism, and the contribution of each. Although there are only a subordinate who may not be satisfied, but the boss is fair, they still put a high respect.

Objective assessment. Bosses have the power to give an assessment. At least once a year through the performance appraisal process. In everyday life, the assessment is also made to the quality of work and discipline subordinates. There is almost no control over the quality of the assessment supervisor, so that subjectivity factors sometimes affect the assessment. Remain objective, because with the attitude that you can provide objective assessment of a truly fair and accountable. Your subordinates will also learn to further improve the behavior and performance, because they know that the factor of proximity or lip service will not affect your assessment.

Gives the opportunity to develop. Just as you who want a career development and income, as well as your subordinates. The subordinates are looking forward to a boss who is always willing to give space for personal development. Did you do that by sending them on a training, call a trainer from outside, or maybe just build a conducive environment that enables the exchange of science, knowledge, and skills among themselves. There are many ways you can do, even without a cost though.

Noting his future. The question that always exist in the mind of every subordinate is; would be like if my future? Some of them even pounding with his contract status, whether extended or not. As an employer, you are responsible for ensuring that their future will be just fine. Encourage them to contribute as much as possible, so that even easier for you in their fate. Thus; you get the commitment of the performance of subordinates, while subordinates to get a commitment from you to do all it can consider the future of their careers.

There is no perfect boss. However, there is between a boss who actually uses his position to support the needs and expectations of his subordinates. Although it is impossible to satisfy everyone, but as long as you are able to meet the expectations of the above, rest assured: you can be a boss who deserve to be proud of.
