The first Discipline: Leading by example
There is no leader without followers. Leading By Example is about how to win the hearts of subordinates and make them willing to follow directives given by the leader.
The first discipline is to train leaders in organizations to identify needs, expectations and motivations of stakeholders, and summarized it into a vision or strategic objectives, communicating effectively, and build credibility by acting consistently to achieve that vision.
Discipline Two: Embracing subordinates
A great leader needs to build a strong team who have a passion to work within a strong team. The second discipline is to help leaders build, align and lead a team and manage available resources effectively.
The second discipline is to train leaders to build a sense of belonging within subordinates in a way is always open and involving himself and his team members in every activity, ranging from goal-setting, division of roles to the implementation phase, with the aim to create a strong commitment within subordinates.
Discipline Three: Developing subordinates
The third discipline is focused on critical actions that need to be made by leaders, namely to develop talent and potential of their subordinates. In principle, a new leader if he's perfectly capable of developing subordinates or others.
The third discipline is to train leaders to start doing an effective empowerment through appropriate delegation of tasks, identify obstacles, and doing coaching.
